The date of the Kurdish National Conference to be organized in Irbil in northern Iraq has been changed from August 19-21 to August 24-26.
The preparation committee has changed the date of the long-awaited conference but has not yet made an official announcement.
Committee member Ghaffur Mahmuri said 600 delegates and 300 guests will attend the conference, 45 percent out of whom would be allocated to political parties and institutions, 30 percent to civil society organizations and 10 percent to independent participants.
Mahmuri highlighted that, contrary to the discussions, the conference would not be a platform to declare independence because political conditions were not appopiate at the moment.
"This conference would give all neighbors messages of peace. Leader of Kurdish people is expected to be elected," he said.
