400 kilograms of explosives have been found in a car in Lebanon on Friday morning, three days after 25 people were killed in twin bombings targeting the Iranian embassy in Beirut.

The Lebanese army defused a car rigged with 400 kilograms of explosives in the eastern Bekaa Valley early Friday.

A security source said that the truck was seized between the towns of Maqne and Younine after a gunbattle between armed gangs.

Army troops also found two mortars in the car.

A security cordon has been imposed around the area and an investigation has been set up into the incident.

The incident came three days after 25 people were killed in twin bombings targeting the Iranian embassy in Beirut.
