Unknown militants on Sunday gunned down a Libyan Air Force officer and wounded his son.
"They showered him with bullets while taking his kid to school," Ibrahim al-Shara, a spokesman for the joint security operation room in Benghazi, told Anadolu Agency.
The militant immediately killed Salah Farag al-Darsi, 42, and wounded his son, he confirmed.
"The officer arrived to the hospital dead with three gunshots to the heart," Fadia al-Bargathi, a spokesman for al-Galaa Hospital in Benghazi, told AA.
She added that the 17-year-old son was still hospitalized.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack until the filing of this report.
