On March 29, the daughter of ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi's aide Amin El-Serafy, Karima El-Serafy, was arrested in a raid by police on her family home in Cairo.
The post-coup interim government's Interior Minister accused her along with her father of leaking national security documents to a foreign country. The whereabout of Karima are currently not known after masked police officers violently detained her and took property from the home.
Her father is currently in custody as well, but his whereabouts too are not clear. He was being held in the Tora prison according to the interior minister's spokesperson's statement on December 2, which contradicted the minister himself who said that he had been transferred from the Republican Guards Club to Al-Aqrab maximum security prison on December 17.
Despite the fact that he is already in prison, the Egyptian Interior Ministry insists that he and his daughter smuggled classified information abroad. According to Ikhwanweb, his daughter Karima also received no access to her father since he was detained on July 3 immediately after the coup led by General Abdal Fattah al-Sisi.Last Mod: 01 Nisan 2014, 17:39
