Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday approved a new plan for sending 400 policemen to Jerusalem to boost security in the old city, Israeli media said.
The Israeli news site Walla said the new plan includes the use of new security technologies.
It did not, however, mention further details about these technologies or the date the new group of policemen would start their work in Jerusalem.
Israel's Channel 2, meanwhile, said Netanyahu took the decision during a meeting specified for assessing the security situation in Jerusalem.
It said Israeli policemen work hard to preserve security in the city.
Jerusalem has been the site of high tension between Palestinians and Israeli police and army troops in recent months against the background of Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
