The meeting was closed to the press.

He added that the two exchanged views about human rights, fighting sectarianism, and contributing to the development of Islamic countries.

Zarif slams US Undersecretary of State, says nuclear program a reality

US officials should understand that Iran's nuclear program is a reality, Zarif said Wednesday at the joint press conference.

Zarif slammed a recent statement made by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman at a meeting of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee claiming that the Geneva deal stalled because of Iran’s nuclear program.

"Iran’s nuclear technology is non-negotiable and US officials’ statements about Iranian nuclear facilities are invalid," said Zarif.

Reiterating the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program Zarif added: “Even if some of these words are made only for their domestic use, they have to stop speaking like they want to find a solution. Making such comments is not effective or useful.”

Zarif also said that US President Barack Obama conceded that the US' demands from Iran are unattainable; thus, they come to terms with Iran for a sustainable conclusive solution.
