The new right-wing government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited a storm of criticism from Palestinians.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu's right-wing Likud Party signed a deal with the even more right-wing Jewish Home party (which holds eight seats in the Knesset), allowing the incumbent prime minister to form a government.

The coalition deal will help Netanyahu obtain the 61 Knesset seats necessary for cobbling together a governing coalition.

Netanyahu had earlier hammered coalition agreements with the centrist Kulanu Party (ten Knesset seats); the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism Party (seven seats); and the Shas Party (six seats).

"The main goal of this government is to judaize East Jerusalem and the West Bank by controlling the largest part of land, building new settlements and killing any chance for peace," Palestinian MP Mustafa Barghouti told Anadolu Agency.

He, however, said that the new government will be very weak as it only enjoys the support of 61 members of the 120-seat Knesset.

Barghouti opined that there will be no chance to negotiate peace with the new Israeli government.

"The international community can and should exert pressure on this government," said Barghouti, who is the general secretary of the Palestine National Initiative.

Bassam al-Salhi, secretary-general of the Palestinian People's Party, said the new Israeli government was more extremist than its predecessors.

"We are in front of a government that believes in settlement construction and killing Palestinians," he told Anadolu Agency.

He said that "Netanyahu was blackmailed by Jewish right-wing parties and formed a weak government."

Lawmaker Qais Abdul Karim said Netanyahu's new government will be held hostage by right-wing parties in Israel.

"Netanyahu has formed an unstable government where all the extremist parties can bring it down at any moment," Abdul Karim, a member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said
