An Egyptian policeman was shot dead Thursday in Egypt's central Fayoum province, a security source has said.
Sergeant Alaa M., 42, was killed when unidentified attackers gunned him down as he left Fayoum University, the source, insisting on anonymity, told The Anadolu Agency.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.
Militant attacks have been on the rise in Egypt since the army ousted elected President Mohamed Morsi in mid-2013 following massive protests against his single year in office.
