Supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi staged rallies Tuesday to protest the killing of protesters by security forces in Cairo.
The protesters carried placards demanding punishment for the killers, according to an Anadolu Agency correspondent.
The Health Ministry said that 88 people have so far been confirmed dead in attacks between pro-Morsi demonstrators and security forces near the Rabaa al-Adawiya Square on Saturday.
But medics at a field hospital set up in the square say at least 66 supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi were killed and 61 others "clinically dead".
The Muslim Brotherhood accused security forces of opening fire at its unarmed supporters.
But security forces denied using live ammunition against the protesters, insisting they had only used teargas to disperse the crowds.
Ever since his ouster by the military on July 3, Morsi supporters have been staging daily mass demonstrations and sit-ins nationwide demanding his reinstatement.
The two biggest sit-ins have been staged in Rabaa al-Adawiya Square in eastern Cairo and Nahda Square in Giza.Last Mod: 31 Temmuz 2013, 09:50
