Quartet envoy Tony Blair arrived in Cairo Saturday for talks with Egyptian official on the situation in the Palestinian territories.
"Blair arrived aboard a private plane from Moscow," a source at Cairo international airport told Anadolu Agency.
The Quartet envoy will hold talks with Egyptian officials on the situation in the Palestinian territories, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported.
Blair had telephoned Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri on Thursday to discuss ways of abiding by a 2012 ceasefire between the Palestinians and Israel.
Violence raged in the Palestinian territories after Israeli launched a military strike – dubbed "Operation Protective Edge" – with the stated aim of ending rocket fire from Gaza.
At least 122 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured unrelenting Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since Monday.
