Magne Barth, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), said on Tuesday that violence in Syria obstructed the evacuation of killed and wounded people.
Stating that they held talks with both parties in Syria to be able to evacuate the casualties, Barth said, "international laws guarantee the respect required for the funerals. Although international laws take all required measures to evacuate the dead and wounded people without delay, unfortunately this cannot be done in Syria."
In an earlier statement, Andres Patino, the ICRC's regional forensic adviser, said that each month, thousands of bodies had been transferred from several regions of Syria to the hospitals lacking of necessary technical equipment.
According to the latest reports of United Nations, 3-year violence in Syria has claimed more than 70,000 lives since March 2011.Last Mod: 07 Mayıs 2013, 16:33
