Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdel-Aziz on Monday received visiting Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in Riyadh.
The meeting touched on recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the state-run SPA news agency reported.
According to the news agency, the Saudi crown prince reaffirmed Riyadh's support for the Palestinian cause and efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
At an international donor conference for the reconstruction of war-battered Gaza, Saudi Arabia had pledged $500 million.
Conference attendees pledged a total of $5.4 billion to the embattled Palestinians, roughly half of which is meant to go towards rebuilding the coastal strip following a devastating Israeli onslaught on the blockaded enclave last summer.
