Ways of bolstering cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Jordan topped the agenda of talks between the kings of both states at a Wednesday meeting in Saudi capital Riyadh, Saudi media has reported.

According to Saudi's official news agency, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz met in Riyadh with Jordanian King Abdullah II.

The meeting between the two Arab monarchs, it added, had also focused on recent regional developments.

Jordan's King Abdullah arrived in Riyadh earlier Wednesday for his first official visit to the oil-rich kingdom since King Salman's coronation on Jan. 23 following the death of his predecessor, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.

On Jan. 24, the Jordanian king – along with a host of world leaders and government officials – attended the late Saudi monarch's funeral.

The Jordanian king's visit to Saudi Arabia comes two days after he conferred in Amman with Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Talks between the two leaders had dwelt largely on regional developments and Jordan-Kuwait ties.
