Commander of Israel's Golani Brigade Ghassan Alian was injured Sunday during clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip, Israeli daily Haaretz reported.

According to the Israeli paper, Alian sustained light to moderate wounds during the clashes.

According to the Israeli army's website, the Golani Brigade, established in 1948, has played a key role in all of Israel's wars. It is composed of three battalions and a reconnaissance battalion.
