A group of extremist Jewish settlers sprayed defamatory phrases against Prophet Muhammad and Arabs in occupied Jerusalem, Israeli media reported Thursday.
According to Israeli Channel 10, the phrases are believed to have been written by the anti-Arab, pro-settlement "Price Tag" groups, noting that one of the phrases spray-painted was 'Death to Arabs!'
The report, however, did not say where these phrases were written.
"Price tag" refers to a strategy by which extremist Jewish settlers attack Palestinians and their property in retaliation for perceived threats to Israeli settlement expansion.
Such attacks have recently increased in frequency, both inside the self-proclaimed Jewish state and in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Mosques and churches, meanwhile, were spray-painted with the Jewish Star of David – Israel's national symbol – and racist phrases.
While the incidents have drawn public condemnation from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinian officials say such incidents often transpire as Israeli troops and police look on.
