A Syrian national was injured in a blast in the northern Syrian city of Manbij, local security sources said Wednesday.

After fleeing Manbij due to ISIL attacks, Yousuf Ali Dusho, 29, was injured by an explosive device that exploded when he returned to his home, according to sources, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

The sources also said ISIL extremists placed the homemade explosive in Dusho's kitchen.

Dusho was taken to Nizip State Hospital in Turkey's southeastern Gaziantep province, they added.

He gave testimony to police officers via a translator.
