The President of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces, Ahmad Moaz al-Khatib on Wednesday said that they needed 3 billion USD for a transitional government in Syria.
In a written statement released on Wednesday, al-Khatib underlined that they needed 3 billion USD for a transitional government and that friendly countries so far gave no guarantees to provide such an amount of funds.
"We need to establish a transitional government. I am concerned that a transitional government in Syria may fail due to lack of adequate funds. A government without money has no value," al-Khatib stressed.
Al-Khatib condemned the inaction of the international community on Syria.
"Countries with no feelings do not feel the cold, suffer starvation, or hear the pain of children and those being tortured in prisons," al-Khatib noted.
The only way to deal with chaos is by establishing a transitional government, al-Khatib underlined.
"We are presently between two fires. One of it has to do with forming a government and failing and the other has to do with not establishing a government and the danger of an international intervention," al-Khatib also said.
