Tawhid Brigade, affiliated with the Islamic Front, planted explosives under the Carlton Hotel used as headquarters by the Syrian regime forces and blew it up through a 300 meter tunnel which took two months to dig out.
The Islamic Front dealt a heavy blow to Assad’s forces with the operation named 'Earthquake' and attacked them with hand-made mortars, hand grenades and heavy weapons.
The opponents captured strategic points around historical Aleppo fortress after a long battle and surrounded the fortress where a large number of Syrian regime forces were stationed.
The operation commander of Tawhid Brigade, Abu Assad told AA reporter that they disconnected all supply routes of Assad’s forces leading to the fortress, and captured several important buildings near the fortress. He said that the use of snipers were a great help in the success of their offensive.
