Syria's Kurds have agreed "to act in unison" against the country's Assad, said an official from the Syrian Kurdish National Council or SKNC.
"Kurdish groups in Syria from now on will speak with a concerted voice at the international arena and act in unison against the Assad regime. The decision to unite is a historic step for Kurds in Syria and the Syrian opposition," Shivan Hussein, SKNC's representative in Turkey, told the Anadolu Agency.
The agreement between Syrian Kurdish groups was secured following a week-long negotiations in Irbil brokered by Massoud Barzani, head of the regional Kurdish administration in Iraq's north.
Hussein said the Syria's Kurds also agreed to set up joint committee called "High Kurdish Council" and to stop bickering with each other over press media.Last Mod: 12 Temmuz 2012, 16:46
