Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki pardoned on Wednesday 343 convicts due to Eid al-Fitr.
Marzouki decided to pardon the prisoners, except those sentenced on “terror” charges. He took the decision after having met Minister of Justice Nadhir Ben Ammou and general head of prison administration Habib as-Subui.
Ammou stated a special commission examined files of 568 prisoners and 343 in total were to be pardoned, including 266, whose punishments were to end in less than 3 months. On the other hand, the punishments of 981 prisoners were reduced.Last Mod: 08 Ağustos 2013, 09:47
