Leader of Tunisia's ruling Al-Nahda Movement Rashid Al-Gannushi said his party mediated in Egypt for a political solution to the crisis.
Gannushi told an Anadolu Agency correspondent that they would continue to mediate in Egypt and announce if they saw any developments.
"Tunisia's initiative is received positively by several segments of the international community," said Gannushi. "This crisis will not only affect Egypt badly but also the countries where the Arab spring took place. We hope that the initiatives launched to overcome the crisis will prove to be successful."
Egypt has been in a state of turmoil since the army deposed Mohamed Morsi, Egypt's first democratically elected president, on July 3 after mass protests against his regime.Last Mod: 23 Temmuz 2013, 10:02
