While top Turkish officials denounced the army for forcefully deposing Egypt's elected president Mohammed Mursi, some of Turkey's political parties and NGOs also went out to streets to show their support for the Egyptian leader.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the Egyptian Embassy and Consulate in Turkey to show their support for the Egyptian leader hours after the Egyptian military announced that it had taken power.

A group of people gathered in front of the Egyptian Consulate General in İstanbul and protested the military coup with pro-Morsi banners in their hands.

Another group of protesters came together at the Egyptian Embassy in Ankara to condemn elected President Morsi being overthrown in an anti-democratic manner.

A small demonstration was also held in the Anatolian province of Konya. The NGOs called on people to express their disdain for the military coup in the following days as well.
