Two Syrian brigadier-generals fled to Turkey overnight, part of a group of about 10 people that included colonels and other military officers, a Turkish official told Reuters on Saturday.
The latest defections would bring the number of Syrian generals taking refuge in Turkey to 24.
160 more Syrians entered Turkey on Saturday after fleeing clashes in their country. The Syrians who entered Turkey via the Reyhanli town of the southern province of Hatay on Saturday included two generals, two colonels, one captain, one first lieutenant, and several privates with their family members.
Syrian military officials and their family members were sent to the Apaydin camp while others were sent to the provinces of Sanliurfa and Gaziantep.
