Michel Kilo has been elected the secretary-general for "Union of Syrian Democrats" which aims to gather pro-democracy groups in the opposition under an umbrella.
Kilo made a speech after the results of elections held over the weekend in Istanbul, saying "the hardest part of the work has just begun, which is to be a democrat and to establish democracy. If spirit of democracy dominates, political consensus and fraternity will dominate as well which means to proceed towards a civil state."
Speaking highly of youth which he described as "code for Syrian democracy", Kilo also noted that it was possible only with a communication with youngsters to achieve democracy.
Kilo also called for religious functionaries of all sectarian groups which had key role in Syria to take part in improvement of political powers.Last Mod: 30 Eylül 2013, 23:13
