International internet corporation Yahoo will close down its office in the Egyptian capital as part of plans to rationalize operations.
"The corporation has decided to move its Cairo operation to its office in Dubai," a source in the corporation told Anadolu Agency.
Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang said in 2009 during a conference in the Egyptian resort of Sharm al-Sheikh that Yahoo Corporation would seek to increase its investments in the Middle East region in general and in Egypt in particular.
The multinational internet corporation also confirmed closure of the Cairo office.
"This decision is part of Yahoo’s global efforts to streamline operations, encourage more collaboration and innovation by bringing more Yahoos together in fewer locations, and build a strong global business that is set up for long-term growth," it said in a statement.Last Mod: 24 Ekim 2013, 11:34
