The deaths of five residents of the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp on Sunday brought the total who have died from hunger in the camp to 68, according to a local official.
Abu Abdullah, form The Local Coordination Committees of Syria, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that regime forces have been seizing humanitarian aid at check points, before it could reach the camp.
"Due to blockage of humanitarian aid coming to the camp, the number of the refugees dying of starvation will unfortunately increase," he said.
The camp has been under siege from Syrian regime forces and pro-regime militias since September.
Palestine refugees have been severely affected by the ongoing armed conflict, with virtually all of their residential areas experiencing armed engagements or the use of heavy weapons.Last Mod: 31 Ocak 2014, 23:41
