Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif is on his way back to Tehran for what could be critical consultations. Mr. Zarif is expected to come back to Vienna on Tuesday, June 30 - the deadline for the negotiations.
Western officials say the trip could involve discussions among Iran's leadership that may decide the fate of the talks. Iranian FM, in turn, stated that he likely needed to get fresh instructions and review the latest discussions.
Despite the fixed deadline - June 30 - the talks may be extended if necessary. 'After more than a decade of talks, they can take a few extra days if needed', U.S. State Department official said.
