At least 15 Palestinians were injured by gunfire on Friday in two separate clashes with Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank, eyewitnesses and medics said.

Israeli army forces stormed the town of Silwad east of Ramallah where they clashed with Palestinian youths who pelted a nearby Israeli checkpoint with stones, eyewitnesses said.

Israeli troops used teargas, live ammunition and birdshot to disperse the Palestinian youths, four of whom were injured by birdshot, eyewitnesses said.

In a similar confrontation near the Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah, five Palestinian youths were injured in the leg by live ammunition while six others suffered birdshot injuries, medics said.
