Senior Fatah official Azzam al-Ahmad said Tuesday that the lineup of an incoming Palestinian unity government was "ready" and would be unveiled on Thursday.
"Fatah and Hamas have agreed on the lineup of the national unity government, which will be sent to President Mahmoud Abbas for approval," al-Ahmad told a press conference.
Abbas will officially announce the lineup on Thursday, al-Ahmad said.
The senior Fatah official arrived in the Gaza Strip on Monday for talks with Hamas officials on the formation of the unity government.
Al-Ahmad said that the unity government would be led by Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah.
Last month, Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, and Fatah, which rules the occupied West Bank, hammered out a reconciliation deal with a view to ending the rifts that have marred their relations since 2007.
The deal calls for the formation of a government of national accord to serve until legislative and presidential polls can be held in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.Last Mod: 27 Mayıs 2014, 16:29
