The Arab League on Tuesday accused Israel of "systematic siege" as a country constructing new settlements in the occupied West Bank region of Palestine.
In a statement released, the Arab League indicated that Israel took control of land and grasslands that belonged to the Palestinians by constructing new residential units after using military force and applying violence against the Palestinian owners of land.
In its statement, the Arab League stressed that Israel was involved in certain acts that were in contradiction with international laws.
"Permanent members of the UN Security Council and human rights organizations must take action against Israel's 'systematic siege' which threatens world peace and security," the statement said.
The statement asked the international community to take a stance against Israel's illegal attempts to control Palestinian territory.
Serious efforts must begin for peace in reaction to Israel's traps, wrong guidance and tactics to gain time, the statement underlined.
The statement also asked the European Union (EU) to end financial support for the construction of the new Jewish settlements which are in contradiction with the decisions of the UN Security Council and the International Court of Justice.Last Mod: 13 Şubat 2013, 10:11
