Palestinian unity government spokesman Ehab Bessaiso said Saturday that an explosion had targeted his home in the Gaza Strip.

Bessaiso told The Anadolu Agency that the explosion targeted the electricity generator in his home, one day after he and other unity government ministers received several threatening messages on their phones from unknown persons.

He denied that the explosion was caused by a short circuit.

"We're currently waiting for the Civil Defense report to find out the reason for the explosion," he said.

No casualties were reported in the blast.

The house, however, sustained minor damage, Bessaiso.

He said the blast took place minutes after two bombs targeted two ATMs in Gaza City.

"Despite this, the government will continue to shoulder its responsibility towards the Gaza Strip and the West Bank," the spokesman said.

Last November, a series of coordinated bombings targeted the homes of some leading members of Fatah group in the Gaza Strip.

Fatah accused rival faction Hamas of orchestrating the attacks, a claim that the latter denied.
