Warning sirens sounded Tuesday in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Israeli army radio has reported.
The army has yet to confirm whether any rockets were fired into the Israeli-held region.
Yet the broadcaster reported that a rocket had landed in empty land near the Jewish Ein Zivan settlement – without causing any casualties or damage – in the northern Golan Heights.
The Israeli army on Sunday said it had foiled a bid by certain parties to plant explosives in the Golan Heights near the border with Syria.
"An attempt by a cell of saboteurs to plant an explosive device targeting our troops on the border with Syria was thwarted," army spokesman Avichay Adraee said.
A military source told Israel's Channel 2 that an army force had discovered four militants trying to plant the device, prompting the Israeli Air Force to intervene and kill the militants.
The broadcaster described the operation as the largest of its kind since the Israeli army killed a number of Hezbollah members inside Syria a few months ago.
