With balloons carrying the colors of the national Palestinian flag, scores of Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip on Sunday expressed their undying desire to live in an independent state.
The children gathered to mark the Palestinian Independence Day, which was commemorated on Friday.
This is the message the children wanted to convey, according to Fatma al-Askari, the head of the Palestinian NGO Umma Development Forum, which organized the event.
"The children wanted to deliver the message that their country is not independent yet," al-Askari said.
"Palestinian children still dream of independence," she told Anadolu Agency.
She also called on international human rights organizations to support the Palestinian people in their struggle to get its independent state and end the Israeli occupation.
The Palestinians celebrate the Independence Day of their country on November 15 every year. The celebration marks the symbolic declaration by the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital in 1988.Last Mod: 17 Kasım 2013, 17:25
