Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday discussed over phone the threats to Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site for Muslims.
According to media adviser Taher Nounou, Haniyeh reviewed the situation of the Palestinian people "in light of the blockade and threats to Al-Aqsa Mosque".
Talks also tackled the current political developments in the region, he said.
Erdogan had met Hamas political chief Khaled Meshaal in Ankara earlier this month for talks.
The Turkish premier has unveiled intention to visit Gaza, but no date has been set for the visit.
