The one-year-old granddaughter of Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, who had been fighting a serious illness for the past ten days, was pronounced dead in a Gaza City hospital on Tuesday, sources with the family said.
Amal Haniyeh, who had been clinically dead since November 18, was moved last week to Israel's Schneider Children's Medical Center for treatment of a digestive infection that had damaged her brain. She was the daughter of Abdel Salam, Haniyeh's oldest son.
The family, however, had decided to bring her home after being told that her condition was incurable.
