Islamic Jihad says Israel jail torture to lead truce failure

World Bulletin / News Desk

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement said truce between Palestine and Israel would end if Palestinian prisoners came to harm.

PIJ official Hızır Habib told AA correspondent that they would break the ceasefire if the Palestinian prisoners would get hurt. Habib said Israelis torture the prisoners and "occupier zionists" would be responsible for breaking the truce.

Saying that Samer al-Issawi was on hunger strike for 214 days in order to protest the maltreatment and degrading conditions in the jails, Habib added if any Palestinian prisoners would get hurt all Palestinian resistance forces would break the truce.

Meanwhile, Arab League said in a written statement that Israel was responsible for the lives of Samer al-Issawi and other three prisoners who were on long-term hunger strike to protest the maltreatment and degrading conditions in the jails.

Palestinian prisoners started one-day mass hunger strike on Wednesday to support those prisoners.
