The drill would focus on tactics against possible scenarios of attacks from the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army radio said, noting that it would continue until the night hours of the day.

Explosions are expected to echo in the communities near the Gaza border, it noted.

The exercise comes as part of activities to improve the army's operational readiness near the Gaza border area, the radio said.
