Israel launched more airstrikes on the Gaza Strip overnight, after an attack on Friday in which two people were killed, al Jazeera television reported, citing Palestinian health officials.

At least 17 people were injured in Saturday's attacks, Hamas hospital officials said.

The strikes hit sites including a security compound belonging to the Hamas in the centre of Gaza city.

The violence comes despite an Egypt-brokered ceasefire in force since Wednesday.

On Friday, Israeli airstrikes killed two Palestinians and injured four more.

Since Monday, at least 10 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrike, including a 14-year-old boy.
