Israeli police on Friday arrested two Jewish settlers in Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) while posting anti-Christian flyers ahead of an upcoming visit by the Vatican's Pope Francis, an army spokesperson said.
The two adults were arrested and taken for investigation after they were caught posting leaflets with slogans offensive to Christianity and to the Pope, expected to arrive in Jerusalem on Sunday.
For his first visit to the Middle East since his anointment in March 2013, the Pope will also be visiting Jordan.
The Pope is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Perez during his visit, Israeli media reported.
He will also meet with senior Catholic priests in Al-Quds and visit Al-Aqsa Mosque where he will meet with Palestinian Mufti Mohamed Hussein.Last Mod: 23 Mayıs 2014, 12:52
