Scores of Palestinians on Friday suffered temporary asphyxiation and birdshot injuries after Israeli troops dispersed anti-settlement demonstrations in several parts of the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Israeli forces used birdshot and teargas to disperse Palestinians who had gathered in several West Bank towns to hold weekly rallies against continued Israeli settlement construction, according to the Popular Resistance Committee, which organizes the weekly rallies.
In western Ramallah, Israeli forces sprayed brackish water to disperse demonstrators, according to the popular committee.
Every Friday, Palestinians stage rallies to protest ongoing Israeli settlement building and Israel's separation barrier, which snakes through the occupied West Bank isolating several Palestinian communities.
The weekly rallies are typically dispersed by force by the Israeli army.
According to the Palestinian government in Ramallah, the separation barrier effectively cuts some 50,000 Palestinian residents of occupied East Jerusalem off from the city center.
