Israeli forces staged a limited incursion into the Gaza Strip on Thursday.
Eight Israeli bulldozers moved 200 meters into the coastal enclave east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency.
Israeli helicopters, meanwhile, hovered over the area, witnesses said.
Eyewitnesses also said that Israeli troops had fired across the border into Palestinian territory, although no injuries were reported.
Palestinian fighters, meanwhile, fired two mortar shells at the Israeli bulldozers.
No casualties were reported among the Israeli soldiers.
In recent days, the self-proclaimed Jewish state has staged almost daily incursions into the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, with Israeli troops often firing haphazardly at Palestinian farmers and homes near the border.
