A group of Palestinians protested in front of the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, ahead of what is expected to be Obama's first-ever trip to Israel as president.

Islamic Movement in 48 Palestine, a Palestinian movement based in Israel, held a demonstration in front of the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, in protest of US President Barack Obama's visit in March to Jerusalem, where according to Israeli media he is also scheduled to visit Masjid al-Aqsa, one of the holiest sites in Islam.

"We have organized this demonstration to send Obama a message," Raed Salah, leader of the movement, said. "Obama's visit to Jerusalem, al-Buraq [Wailing] Wall and Masjid al-Aqsa with Israeli army escort would mean he sanctifies Israeli occupation of Jerusalem," Salah said.

US President Barack Obama is expected to depart for Israel on March 19, in what will be his first visit as US president after more than four years in tenure.
