Turkey's Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) on Tuesday distributed food packages to 250 Palestinian orphans in the Gaza Strip.
The event coincided with Arab Orphan's Day, marked every year on the first Friday in April.
The move aims "to help the orphans and ease their difficulties," Mehmet Kaya, IHH representative in Gaza, told Anadolu Agency.
The IHH is also sponsoring a project to provide medical services to 470 Gazan orphans suffering from various illnesses, many of whom will be transferred to Turkey for treatment, Kaya said.
The Turkish relief agency provides humanitarian services in 120 countries. It opened a branch in the Gaza Strip in 2009 following a bloody and highly destructive Israeli military onslaught on the coastal enclave.Last Mod: 01 Nisan 2014, 13:25
