At least four people, including a child, have been injured Sunday during an illegal demonstration in Turkey’s southeastern Sirnak province, said police.

A nine-year-old child and three police officers were injured in protests in Cizre town, against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISID, attacks on the besieged Syrian town of Kobani, according to police officials.

Police officials said security forces intervened when some protesters refused to leave after being asked to disperse, as the demonstration was illegal..

The wounded child and the three police officers were taken to the hospital. One of the injured police officers has left the hospital after treatment.

In another demonstration in Sirnak's district of Silopi, a masked group set up barricades on the streets and threw stones, fireworks and Molotov cocktails at security forces, when they arrived at the scene, according to local police.

Earlier in October protests erupted - resulting in some 40 deaths - when the Syrian border town of Kobani came under attack by ISID militants and it was alleged that the Turkish government was not doing enough to help the mostly Kurdish population there.
