Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yilmaz met ambassadors of 18 European Union (EU) members and said Turkish communities react against EU's not granting Turkey's visa-free travel rights to Turkey.
Ambassadors of 18 EU countries accompanied by Yilmaz visited eastern province of Van in Turkey on Friday.
Yilmaz indicated that "what makes a difference in Turkish public opinion is to solve the visa issue. Turkish communities react against EU's not granting Turkey's visa-free travel rights to Turkey".
Jean-Maurice Ripert, the ambassador of the EU to Turkey, said we visited Van with ambassadors of 18 EU members to show Turkey is not made up merely of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
Ripert said that Turkish citizens' visa applications to EU countries are prepared in less than 2 days and 75 percent of foreign investments to Turkey come from EU countries.
