Ahmet Dogan, the father of Furkan Dogan who was murdered by Israeli forces during the Mavi Marmara raid, joined Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his trip to the US in order to provide U.S. President Barack Obama with a letter describing how the case opened for his son in the U.S. has been mismanaged.

The letter Ahmet Dogan will give to U.S. President Obama will also explain how the U.S. bureaucracy has prevented the case opened for U.S. citizen Furkan Dogan, and how the U.S. Department of Justice has remained indifferent to the murder.

The letter was prepared by Furkan Dogan’s attorneys, Ramazan Ariturk and Cihat Gokdemir, in Turkey. By delivering the letter to Erdogan today, Ahmet Dogan requested that it be given to Obama.

Erdogan responded by “I can give this letter to Obama but it would be better for you to give it. I will have you included in the official delegation for this letter,” and requesting that Dogan join him.

After completing his preparations in four hours, Ahmet Dogan headed to the U.S. with PM Erdogan.
