The Turkish judges and prosecutors board made on Friday a legal complaint about the undersecretary of the Justice Ministry.

Kadir Ozbek, the deputy chairman of the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK), told AA correspondent that the board had lodged a legal complaint about Undersecretary Ahmet Kahraman of the Justice Ministry.

HSYK is known for its opposition to the ruling AK Party.

The board submitted the petition to the Supreme Court of Appeals Chairmanship Council.

Kahraman left a board meeting on Tuesday, and did not participate in Thursday's meeting.

"We made our complaint by adding the minutes signed by the elected members of the board about Kahraman's attitude," Ozbek also said.

On February 22, the HSYK accused the government of trying to infiltrate into the judiciary with the constitutional amendment bill.

Ozbek said on February 22 that the constitutional amendment package was a government attempt to occupy a place in the judiciary.

The government made public its constitutional amendment bill on February 22.

According to the bill, the structure of the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) will change.

The permanent members of the board will climb to 21 from 7, and the number of its associate members will rise to 10 from 5. They will be elected for four years, and can be re-elected after their terms in office end.
