Turkish Constitutional Court President Hasim Kilic said that the "human honor" should be the only red line which should not be changed in the new Constitution.

Speaking at a meeting on Thursday, Kilic reminded that the need of a new Constitution was agreed by all parties during the last general elections in Turkey, and added that the Parliamentary constitutional reconciliation Committee worked with great patience and maturity on it, and that this was a serious gain for democracy.

However, four political parties did not push for negotiation after they presented their proposals, and this slowed down the process, he said.

Kilic said that it was normal that the expectation of each sides in the society from the new Constitution was different, because the society was faced with its problems for the first time in a democratic atmosphere.

Kilic underlined that they should try different ways to negotiate, and give a chance to different views and proposals.

He added that the value of honor of every person was equal, noting that religion, sect, race and color were not effective on this value.
