A suspected ISIL member was captured dead in a counter-terrorism operation here, a security source told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.
Ankara Anti-Terror Branch teams carried out an operation in the Etimesgut district after receiving reports that a ISIL terrorist was preparing a suicide attack, according to the source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The suspect, who did not respond to demands "to surrender", was killed during a clash with police.
Scores of explosives were found in the suspect’s home by bomb and crime scene investigation teams.
