Judiciary should act on agents forcing members to spy: BDP

World Bulletin/News Desk

The Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) has called on the Interior Ministry and prosecutors to investigate allegations the party has previously made that an employee at the BDP headquarters, İhsan Gül, was forced to act as an agent.

BDP co-chair Gültan Kışanak on Tuesday said Gül had been hauled into a car by individuals who introduced themselves as police officers and made several threats, wanting him to spy on party members.

Kışanak said the party had filed a criminal complaint and was waiting for the relevant agencies to act.

On Thursday, a statement from the headquarters called on the Interior Ministry and prosecutors to investigate and solve the case. It said that the incident was the last in a series of provocative events aimed at undermining the ongoing settlement process.

It said individuals who are constantly monitoring the party headquarters and forcing employees to work as spies should be exposed, as well as the forces behind them.
